Your donation would break the cycle of reoffending

The revolving door of prison sentences and reoffending traps thousands in a cycle that costs lives, damages communities, and wastes human potential. In the Northeast, 67% of prison leavers reoffend within a year of release.

The Oswin Project is changing that story

Our approach of personalised mentoring, skills training, and employment opportunities has reduced reoffending rates to under 4% among our participants. Behind this number are people enabled to rebuild their lives, support their families, and contribute to their communities.

The impact you can make

“I’ve been in and out of prison since I was 17. The Oswin Project was the first time anyone saw me as more than my record. They helped me get qualifications in catering, found me work experience, and stuck with me when things got tough. I’ve been employed for 18 months now—the longest I’ve ever held a job. My kids are proud of me for the first time.” — James, Former Oswinner

Every donation to The Oswin Project helps people like James build a meaningful life and reduces the likelihood of them returning to prison.

Your support funds:

  • Mentoring that addresses practical and emotional barriers to employment
  • Training that provides marketable skills and qualifications
  • Work experience in our enterprises
  • Employment support with partner employers across the Northeast
  • Ongoing guidance that helps Oswinners maintain their progress

Why Donate

The need for our services is growing rapidly. Prison populations are rising while reoffending rates remain stubbornly high across the UK. The cost to society — both financial and human — is immense.

Meanwhile, The Oswin Project has proven our approach works. With your support, we can:

  • Extend our services to more prisons
  • Launch new enterprises so creating additional training and employment opportunities.
  • Increase our capacity

Your Donation Goes Further

As a UK taxpayer, your donation can go even further through Gift Aid. This government scheme allows us to claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate at no additional cost to you.

Simply tick the Gift Aid box when making your donation, and confirm that:

  • You are a UK taxpayer
  • You understand that if you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year, it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

Thank You

Every donation, regardless of size, makes a meaningful difference in breaking the cycle of reoffending and creating second chances. Thank you for believing that everyone has potential  and supporting those who are working to transform lives.
