Changing the Cycle

Opening in August 2024, our bike shop will offer a range of services, including bike servicing and repairs, as well as the sale of high-quality second-hand bikes. We are committed to providing exceptional maintenance and ensuring that every bike leaves our shop in top condition.

The shop will be staffed by a qualified, experienced and skilled manager, working with prisoners on day release from HMP Northumberland and dedicated volunteers. All (staff members) the team will receive comprehensive training to the Velotech Gold standard, ensuring that our customers receive excellent service and expertise.

In the future, we plan to expand our operation by establishing a workshop in the prison. This workshop will focus on recycling and refurbishing bikes, which will then be sold to the public at reasonable prices through our shop. Our aim is to reduce waste, promote sustainability, and provide skills and experience to those involved in the project.

At the Oswin Project, we believe in second chances and the power of community. By supporting our bike shop, you are not only investing in a quality product and service but also contributing to a brighter future for individuals who have faced challenges in their lives.

Please visit us at our new location in the grounds of HMP Northumberland and join us in making a positive difference in our community.

We are getting the shop setup, email james.teasdale@oswinproject.org.uk if you have any questions or would like to volunteer.
